For this card I used the Layered Medallion Stencil B and inked it up with Lime Rickey and Party Dress inks sprayed it with water and then turned it upside down on watercolor paper. I cut down my technique paper and added some stamped embellishments.

Creative Stencil Techniques Day 2

Today was all about was all about using embossing paste through your stencils and either coloring the paste prior to spreading it or sponging over it.  I used the Halftone stencil from Altenew and some Dreamweaver embossing paste and using a palette knife spread the white paste through my stencil.

I let it dry and the sponged Flirty Fuchsia, Aquatini, Tutti Fruitti and Lime Rickey Inks from CP designs over the paste. Then I wanted to make a space sky for my Space Explorer from MFT, so I sponged Midnight ink over all the bright colors.  I stamped and colored my images and sentiment and once completed added some platinum Liquid Pearls "stars".

Thanks for coming by and having a look

Celebration: Creative Stencil Techniques Day 1

I am taking a class over at Altenew Academy by Laurel Beard where we are learning Creative stencil techniques. For day 1 homework we had to cut a stencil out of cardstock using dies. Here is my cards I made for this day.

I used the stencil, made using the Shutter cover cover plate die from Altenew, along with Flirty Fuchsia, Lime Rickey and Aquatini inks from Catherine Pooler Designs. I inked through the stencil to make a background for my card and then used the stencil piece itself on a second card. I stamped and colored the images from the Celebrate stamp set and sentiments from Label Love stamp set by Altenew to match my backgrounds.

I hope you have a great day!!

CFC172 - Pink, Navy & White

Happy Sunday. I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. I received some Happy Mail this week and decided to try out this weeks color challenge.

For my card I stamped the Full On Floral background stamp on a piece of white cardstock using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and it a amazing!  I only stamped once using my Misti and the image came out perfect. I also stamped the sentiment from the new stamp set Floating, I love this sentiment. I then adhered my panel onto a card base of  navy cardstock, layered the sentiment using Fishtail Banners and added a few sequins from the Sistahood Sparkle sequin mix.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come on over and add your card to the challenge.

Happy Sunday
Susan

Not your average Peonies

I have been on a bit of a mixed media craze lately. The more mess the more paint, ink and stains the better. It is a bit messy, but a whole lot of fun. The CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is "Off the Edge:, so I added a layer on my card base and let some of the embellishments come off of the edge of it a bit.
I used CAS-ual Fridays Pretty Peonies stamp set and dies on this card, as well as the Smile Die from the Smiling Fri-dies set.
I hope you enjoyed this card and  come on over and play in the challenge!!

Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop

Today is the 17th of the month and time for the Calling All Sistahs blog hop.  This hop happens every month as serves as a reminder to do your monthly self breast examinations.

Michelle Saugstad Gross, the owner of CAS-ual Fridays, found a lump back in 2015 during her monthly exam. You can read more of her story here. She created a line of stamps called the Calling All Sistahs Collection and she donates 50% of the profit from these stamps and dies to breast cancer research and awareness programs.

A new product will be added to the collection this month, it is a beautiful sequin mix made by Pretty Pink Posh.  Each Blogger will be using these sequins on their cards this month.

Here is my card for this month.

Thank you for coming on the hop!!
Here is a list of all the stops on this blog hop. Please comment along the way.
Two people who leave comments will receive a $15.00 gift certificate to the Cas-ual Fridays shop.

New Inks from Catherine Pooler

In the fall Catherine Pooler Designs released their foundations box. In this box were 5 ink pads that Catherine had specially formulated and they give excellent coverage on all types of stamps and the colors to not transfer color to the others once the stamp is cleaned. These ink pads are foam not linen and so only a little tap, tap, tap on the ink pad is needed to ink up your stamp.  On Tuesday January 10th Catherine will release the rest of the ink colors to the Party Collection. I am a bit excited and maybe a tad OCD so I have made room and labels for the rest of the collection.

I took this picture before the announcement of Something Borrowed. All of the inks have fun Party themed names. There is one more color to be released tomorrow.  P.S. check out Catherine's facebook page for all the color reveals and to take a guess at the latest hint for the color reveal. You could win $5.00 to Catherine's shop.

I will be back on the 17th for the Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop!!
